Handling & Care for Your DentaSol Products
General Care Tips
Keep it clean and dry: All dental products – eco or classic – last longer when stored in a dry, well-ventilated place.
Rinse after use: Always rinse thoroughly with water to remove toothpaste and debris.
Store upright: An open-air toothbrush holder or clean, dry container is best.
Replace regularly: Dentists recommend replacing toothbrushes and floss picks every 2 – 3 months, or sooner if bristles/frays show wear.
Caring for Toothbrushes
Eco-friendly (bamboo or biodegradable):
Store upright in an open-air holder (avoid damp cups or closed cabinets).
After brushing, shake off excess water and gently wipe the handle before storing.
Don’t soak the handle – excess water can cause wood to soften or crack.
Wipe down the handle in humid environments to prevent mold growth.
Classic (plastic):
Store upright in a ventilated area.
Rinse thoroughly after each use.
Avoid prolonged soaking in water to keep bristles in good shape.
Caring for Floss Picks
Eco-friendly (biodegradable):
Use once only; natural handles may degrade with repeated use.
Keep in original packaging, away from humidity, to prevent early breakdown.
Never flush picks – dispose of properly in trash or compost where applicable.
Classic (plastic):
Single-use only for hygiene reasons.
Dispose of used picks in the trash (not down the toilet).
Disposal Guidelines
Toothbrushes:
Eco-friendly: Remove bristles and small staples with pliers. Bristles usually go in trash or recycling (depending on local facilities). Compost or recycle the bamboo/wood handle where accepted.
Classic: Entire brush goes into regular trash. If parts are recyclable (check local rules), separate accordingly.
Floss Picks:
Eco-friendly: Remove the floss thread (trash/recycle depending on material). Compost the handle in a commercial compost facility if available.
Classic: Dispose of the entire pick in household trash.
Packaging:
Paper & cardboard → recycle.
Glass or metal jars (e.g., for toothpaste tabs, mouthwash) → refill, repurpose, or recycle.
Plastic containers → recycle where local programs accept them.
Quick Tip: Always check your local recycling or composting guidelines – rules vary by city, and following them ensures the most responsible disposal.
