We provide both eco-friendly and classic floss options, so you can choose what works best for you:
Classic Line: Made from durable nylon or PTFE (commonly used in traditional floss), designed for dependable performance and ease of use. These materials are not biodegradable, but they deliver consistent results and are widely trusted in oral care.
Eco-Friendly Line: Made from natural and plant-based fibers such as silk, bamboo fiber, corn fiber, or biodegradable nylon-4. These materials are selected because they can break down naturally over time. The floss is often coated with plant-based waxes like candelilla wax to improve strength and smoothness.
Examples of eco-friendly materials we use:
Silk: A natural fiber that can be composted after use.
Bamboo fiber: A plant-based fiber that is biodegradable.
Corn fibers: Compostable fibers derived from corn.
Nylon-4: A type of nylon shown to break down faster than traditional nylon.
Eco wax coating: Plant-based waxes, such as candelilla wax, help make the floss smooth and easy to slide between teeth.
DentaSol floss picks come in two varieties:
-
Classic Line: Handles are made from strong, BPA-free plastic for durability. The floss thread is high-quality nylon, designed to glide easily between teeth for reliable cleaning.
-
Eco-Friendly Line: Handles are made from plant-based materials such as wheat straw, corn starch, or PLA (a bioplastic derived from corn or sugarcane). The floss itself may be silk, cotton, or biodegradable nylon-4. These materials are designed to break down in proper composting conditions.
Both options are safe, effective, and designed to make flossing simple—you decide whether eco-friendly or classic best fits your routine.
At DentaSol, we offer two types of toothbrushes so you can choose what fits your lifestyle:
Classic Line: Handles are made from durable, BPA-free plastic for everyday use. Bristles are high-quality nylon designed for effective cleaning and comfort.
Eco-Friendly Line: Handles are made from biodegradable materials such as bamboo, wood, or PLA (a plant-based plastic derived from corn or tapioca). Bristles are typically made from plant-based PLA or nylon blends.
Both options are safe, reliable, and designed to give you a healthy smile—you just pick the style that suits you best.
At DentaSol, we use a mix of eco-friendly and conventional packaging materials depending on the product line, always aiming for safety, durability, and responsible use.
-
Classic Line: Some products may arrive in durable plastic or mixed-material packaging to ensure hygiene and shelf life, especially for toothpaste and certain accessories. Wherever possible, we work to make these packages recyclable through local programs.
-
Eco-Friendly Line: Packaging may include PLA (polylactic acid) from plant-based starches, cellulose from wood or cotton, FSC-certified cardboard, paper, or molded pulp. We’re also exploring innovative options like seaweed-based films, mushroom packaging, and sugarcane fiber.
Our long-term goal is to increase the share of renewable and recyclable materials while keeping all packaging safe, protective, and practical for everyday use.
Caring for your dental products helps them last longer, stay hygienic, and work effectively. Here are some simple guidelines:
General Care (Classic & Eco)
Store in a dry place: Keep toothbrushes upright in a well-ventilated holder—avoid enclosed, damp cups or cabinets.
Air-dry after each use: Rinse thoroughly, shake off excess water, and let products dry completely.
Avoid soaking: Prolonged soaking can damage both eco-friendly materials (like bamboo) and shorten the life of classic plastic handles.
Replace regularly: Dentists recommend replacing toothbrushes and floss picks every 2–3 months, or sooner if the bristles fray or floss wears out.
Extra Care for Classic Products
Hygiene focus: Even though plastic handles resist water damage, avoid sharing or prolonged reuse for sanitary reasons.
Floss picks: Designed for single use—always dispose of after each flossing session.
Extra Care for Eco-Friendly Products
Prevent mold: Bamboo and other natural handles can grow mold if left wet. In humid environments, gently wipe handles with a towel after use.
Single-use floss picks: Do not reuse biodegradable picks, as natural materials can degrade with repeated use.
When your DentaSol products reach the end of their life, proper disposal helps reduce waste and keeps your routine responsible.
Toothbrushes
Classic (plastic):
The entire brush goes into the household trash. If your local recycling program accepts #5 or #7 plastics, check if the handle qualifies.
Eco-Friendly (bamboo/wood/PLA):
Remove the bristles (usually PLA or nylon) and any small metal staples with pliers.
Place bristles and staples into a recyclable container (like a plastic bottle) before recycling or discarding, so they don’t get lost in processing.
Compost the bamboo or wood handle in a home or commercial composting facility. PLA handles should go to an industrial composting site, where available.
Floss Picks
Classic (plastic):
Place the entire pick in the household trash. Never flush floss picks.
Eco-Friendly (biodegradable):
Remove the floss thread from the handle—it usually belongs in the trash.
Compost the biodegradable handle in a commercial facility for faster breakdown.
Packaging
Plastic Packaging (Classic Line): Recycle where accepted by your local program; otherwise, dispose of in household trash.
Paper & Cardboard: Recycle with your household paper products.
Glass or Metal Jars: Reuse, refill, or recycle where facilities allow.
